About Richard Egly
One of the things I’m not very good at is talking about myself. I was born in the Black Hills of South Dakota where my family were cattle ranchers. At a very young age I was taught how to be disciplined and have good work ethics. I have always been very proud of being raised in the upper Mid-West, where if you shake a man’s hand it’s as good as any contract.
In 1977 I left the mid-west and joined the United State Marine Corps, where I was fortunate to travel the continental United State and Japan for almost 9 years. This journey eventually brought me to the Marine Corps Air Station in Yuma, AZ where I ended my Marine Corps career and settled in Glendale, AZ in 1985.
After relocating to Glendale I started a real estate career, helping family’s buy and sell their dream homes. I am still very active in the real estate market and have built a wonderful base of clients that I continue to help with all their real estate needs.
I started building custom homes in 2003 where I teamed up with partners and built close to 150 custom homes between 2003 and 2008, then as we all know the real estate market took a very big hit and it became impossible for people to get construction loans. In 2008 I made the decision to go solo and here we are today, building peoples dream homes.
There is nothing more gratifying than taking a set of construction plans that a family brings to you and watching the glow on their faces as we construct it for them. That’s why at Platinum Home Builders we like to say “You Dream It and We’ll Build It”
